Daddy and Emma's Big Day Out

Mark often comments that Emma's all about mom, mom, mom, from the time we wake up to the time we go to sleep. I hinted, not so subtly, that it could be due to the fact that it's me that's always with her. It's always a girl's outing or mom and Emma going shopping, or us having a lie down.

The key to winning Emma over, I suggested to Mark, was that they spend some time together, on their own. Sans mom. So on Friday morning he packed Emma and Palesa into the car and took them out on a trip they'll never forget. He took them to the lion park, and they got to pet the cubs and pose with them. They fed the elephants peanuts and pulled funny faces at the giraffes. They ate hot dogs and drank milkshakes and giggled and laughed.

Needless to say they had a ball and I think out of the three of them Mark enjoyed himself the most. You see, Emma is so easy to be with. She's happy and funny and pulls you in too. There's no way you can be a grumpy grinch when Emma's around.

Of course I'm still Emma's favourite and I'll hold onto that title for as long as possible...until she hits her teens xxx
