Getting Emma to eat anything healthy is like getting me to eat anything at all. Darn near impossible!
Emma is the child who swears a cupcake is a vegetable and I'm the mom who lives on caffeine and dust.
So when I received a few samples of Fruit Pack I jumped at the opportunity of finally getting our 'pasta 'n cheese' girl to snack on wholesome goodness. Fruit Pack is a new healthy fruit snack for children on-the-go, conveniently packaged in a fun, easy-to-use squeezable and resealable pouch. Made from 100% natural fruit with no added sugar, Fruit Pack contains no colourants, no flavourants and no preservatives.
All things considered, the tasting went well and Emma enjoyed Fruit Pack enough to want to share them with her friends at school. There were loads of 'yums' and 'mmmmm's' and even a few 'aw cute's' when they saw the packaging.
The verdict from Emma:
"It's melty!"
The verdict from me:
I think Emma's palate is a little too finicky (my fault, not hers). She dislikes the textures of some fruits, like banana and pear so I think she's not 100% sure about the 'pulpy' feel. It's already a staple after swimming on a Tuesday and Be Sharp Beetles on Thursdays.
And I'm definitely going to be giving Ben Fruit Pack when he hits the ripe old age of 10 months
Fruit Pack is suitable for children from the age of 10 months, and adults can eat it too - it's pure fruit in a pouch, that has simply been pureed into a smooth textured paste, pasteurised (to lock-in the freshness) and sealed in a travel-friendly pouch.
With a retail price of R9.95 per pouch, Fruit Pack is available from Baby City, Spar, Wellness Warehouse, Dis-Chem, delis and health stores nationwide. It's convenient, easy to pack and it has a 12-month shelf life.
