You know how parents joke that when they buy a gift for their kid they can throw away the toy and keep the packaging because that's what Johnny / DyLan/ Sandie / Indie Ana plays with - well now you don't even have to buy the toy.
New in South Africa and already the recipient of the GOLD TOY AWARD at the Mama Magic Baby Expo 2012, makedo's got people make-doing in households around the country.
I personally I LOVE LOVE LOVE the makedo range of goodies. The fact that you get to 'make-do' with left over stuff like yogurt cups, paper, toilet roll inners, takeaway boxes and egg cartons is absolutely awesome. Your junk stuff gets to be play stuff!
Just get a set of re-usable connectors or a feature kit to get started and start playing "I spy with my little eye something to make a robot / dog / cat / cart / plane / dragon / kitchen / house / playground / mermaid...the list endless, as long as your imagine is.
You can build on your own, or with your child :) or in groups. It's a great way to introduce and encourage team work and creativity from creche all the way through to high school. With there being no 'wrong' way of doing it kids get to make their own rules...
To find out more about makedo visit Coral Moon. In the meantime makedo has given me a a great giveaway for you. To win one of two 65 piece FreePlay Kit and the cutest cup critters tell me what you would make-do with your makedo...

Aaron would build a rocket ship, with guns and canons and guns and blasters and spy thingymabobs and guns and did I mention the GUNS!
ReplyDeleteI think we would have an awesome time :)
Sounds awesome. Emma and I might just have to arrange a play date to join in the fun x
ReplyDeleteOooh, I think we would build a boat that we could sail down our driveway in, or perhaps a fort... I mean princess castle... this looks like too much of fun!
ReplyDeleteMaddy is into Kitchens and baby's at the moment, so we'll either build her, her own little kitchen, or maybe a crib type baby station thingymabob!
ReplyDeleteOMW, that's awesome. We do lots of recycling projects with our two boys but this takes it to a whole new level. I think they would make a dog and a cat respectively because that's as close as they are getting to having more pets until they are are old enough to look after them themselves!
ReplyDeletelove these ideas! keep them coming
ReplyDeleteI think Babyice would be most likely to want to build a dinosaur. He is really loving dinosaurs at the moment...can't be too hard, can it?
ReplyDeleteThis design is steller! You certainly know how to keep a reader entertained.
ReplyDeleteBetween your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well,
almost...HaHa!) Great job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than
that, how you presented it. Too cool!
