A week or so ago we went to a birthday at The Secret Garden. The venue is beautiful and a popular one. While we were there there were a few parties on the go. A dinosaur party (the one we were at), a Minnie Mouse one (almost on the opposite end of the garden), one close by and they were busy setting up a few more.
When we arrived I suggested Emma run on ahead to find her friends. Off she went, not a care in the world. And that was it. I was now persona non grata. I had driven her to the party and would see her once it was time to chauffeur her back home.
While sipping on my coffee I realised things had gone a little too quiet. The foghorn was not around. Way across the garden Emma was seated at the Minnie Mouse party, helping herself to flings, lollipops and fizzers. She already had a balloon in her hand and was in the process of collecting a party pack. Dropping my coffee and handing Ben to a parent I made a mad dash across the lawn. I had to apologise profusely to the family and friends for the party crasher but they were ever so sweet and told her she was welcome back any time.
Back to our party we went. And Emma was off again. To the large jumping dinosaur / crocodile thing. As I watched, smile on face, she made her way to the top. And she stood there for a few minutes, ready to jump. And as she leaped she yelled at the top of her well-filled lungs "Fuggit!". Or at least I think it was "fuggit". From the horrified looks on the guests' faces I don't think that's what they heard.
So, of the umpteen parties we've attended Emma has blownn out other kids' candles, photo bombed family photo's and sullied the air with words like "fuggit".
Emma photo bombing Mika's birthday

C went through a phase (when she was a little older than E), of peeing in the garden. I had no issues with it, as hey - it saved on nappies.
ReplyDeleteUntil we went to a birthday party. And she happily tore off around the garden and "marked her territory".
I have NO idea what gave her this idea, that it was okay to do at other people's houses.
It didn't just happen once, either...
bwahahahahah so glad that my brat is not the only one who does these sort of things! I remember dropping him off at a play place a friend owned, she sent me a photo of him (he had invited himself to a party, gotten a party pack and even cake) he does it so often! so scary how this little dude can charm the pants off of anyone. they are kids once...
ReplyDeleteAH and it is one of the things that makes her the very special little person she is
